NATALIE WARRENS
While these continue to be wild times, we are all doing our best to adjust to whatever currently IS. I have faith that art, beauty and collective compassion will see us through. I am pleased that the venues where we gather to share and sell art are being held in person. Through it all I'm still making pots, and will continue to do so, because it is what I love to do. My love of clay and desire to celebrate the beauty of this great art form fuels my creative energy! Clay has been a major part of my life for forty-nine years. Since 1973, I have utilized a broad array of ceramic processes, including functional, sculptural, low-fire, mid-range Cone 6, high-fire reduction and woodfire to explore the amazing nature of clay in regard to form and surface decoration. After all these years, I still love and am passionate about what I do! I began selling my work in the Chicago area while also teaching ceramics part-time at both the university level and in Chicago's public schools as a visiting artist. Much of my inspirations came from these early teaching experiences, especially while working with children. Their spontaneity and daring use of color continue to influence my work! Please see recent work on my Etsy Page and/or contact me directly. |
